Winston Churchill’s restaurant is a swinky dink place inside a rather big house by the biggest avenue in Mexico City. It’s what you’d expect, old recipes done right. The menu rarely changes but that’s why you go. I attached pictures of what everyone ate but only two things are worth mentioning since we’re talking about offal here.
Foie gras with fig compote was nothing spectacular. It was good and full of flavor but it’s the same recipe that you see anywhere else.
The steak and kidney pie used to come in a shallow bowl, like a shepherd’s pie, but it has since changed to one of those “deconstructed” or newly plated dishes where they now serve it between two flaky crusts. I liked it better before.
